Validation Engineer

Our collision-free motion planning solutions make it possible for robots to instantly react to their environments and compute how and where to move as their situation is changing. We are searching for an Validation Engineer. As an Validation Engineer at Realtime Robotics, you will support our rapidly growing list of customers spanning multiple industries by assisting with the implementation and application of our industrial technology. This role is responsible for the development of internal infrastructure designed to understand whether targeted customer challenges can be effectively solved with the delivered product. The role would represent the customer's point of view by testing through design, creation, and deployment of representative scenarios while communicating related learnings. Responsibilities for this role scale the breadth of the Realtime products and include all phases of its use. This role involves no immediate direct customer support but may evolve into a customer-facing role.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the assessment of product usability and functionality, focusing on:

    • Robotic workcell definition

    • Task definition

    • Deployment modification/iteration when in use

  • Design and create customer-representative deployment environments and associated tasks.

  • Act as the internal first customer, providing guiding feedback to product design and implementation.

  • Explore newly implemented features through implementation, task iteration, and (re)design.

  • Be ready to advocate on behalf of customers within Realtime and ensure their technical needs and requests are understood throughout Realtime Robotics.

Required Qualifications The ideal candidate will have many of the following key skills and qualifications:

  • Familiarity with industrial manufacturing workcell deployment, and knowledge of common

  • workcell metrics (i.e. TAKT time, cycle time, etc).

  • Experience and familiarity with FMEA within the scope of an industrial robotics deployment.

  • Strong knowledge deploying integrated robotic workcells, including setup and configuration of industrial robots, conveyors, sensors, PLCs, HMIs, etc.

  • Functional knowledge of programming PLC’s and/or high-level programming languages such as Python/C++

  • Experience deploying Perception / Computer Vision systems.

  • Comfort working within a customer mentality, and understanding customer requirements.

  • Comfort in an in-office setting, working with real hardware.

  • Desire to work in a fast-paced startup environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • BS in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related fieldExperience adhering to industrial deployment regulations in safety-critical environments, and/or familiarity with ISO/TS 15066, ISO 13849, ISO 10218.

  • Familiarity/comfort using CAD tools.
