[Senior] Software Development Engineer in Test

Reporting to the Software Quality Director, the [Senior] Software Development Engineer in Test will be responsible for verifying product functionality in a dynamic setting. This primarily includes planning and creating test automation, performing exploratory testing, and coordinating test development efforts, while functioning as a part of an agile development team. Testing responsibilities for this role may fall in the scope of pure software, robotic perception systems, graphical user interfaces, or network applications and communication.


  • Function in an agile setting to verify and validate product functionality through automation, in tandem with development.

  • Scope and plan test development efforts for new product features, coordinating subsequent development.

  • Develop regression and performance-based test automation as product functionality stabilizes. 

  • Perform manual exploratory testing as part of the agile process and as input to automation.

The Candidate:

The ideal candidate will have many of the following key skills and qualifications:

  • 5+ years experience designing, creating, maintaining automated test cases. 

  • Experience building test automation through Python/Pytest, and/or C++/GTest.

  • Experience deploying continuous integration tests on platforms such as jenkins or travis.

  • Comfort performing exploratory testing both through automation and manually.


  • Experience with ROS or ROS2.

  • Working knowledge of robotics motion planning

  • Working knowledge of industrial automation practices.

  • Experience with Computer Vision systems; experience evaluating image analysis pipelines.

  • Experience functioning in a testing scope in a regulated, safety-critical environment.
